History
| DPSciences Corporation (DPS) was founded in 1961 by Quentin Nesbitt, a successful IBM Account Executive.
The business started as a manufacturer’s representative organization selling supplies in the early days of the data processing industry. DPS provided products for computer communications as early as 1968. In the 1970s, DPS recognized a unique customer requirement, and became one of the first companies of our type to provide direct field support, at a time when our competition relied on the product manufacturers to provide customers with technical support. In the mid 1980s, the requirement to network personal computers had an enormous impact on our business. In order to support the first Local Area Networks, DPS, developed a premier technical support staff to handle configurations, implementation, project management and maintenance of these networks and technologies. While technology and solutions have evolved since 1961, one thing has remained constant – DPS is a financially sound organization with strong leadership. DPS has a D&B rating of 4A1, and no long-term debt. DPS is privately owned and is currently led by Scott Nesbitt, the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. DPS has always been proactive in searching out new solutions to add value to our clients. An example is our venture into telecommunication services. In the 1990’s, DPS participated in “pilot” programs and the launch of channel programs for Ameritech, BellSouth, Cincinnati Bell and AT&T. The end result was another milestone for DPS. We became one of the first organizations to deliver an end-to-end network solution, encompassing both the local area and wide area components of our client’s network. In the mid 1990’s, DPS participated in the initial partner program from the leading networking manufacturer, Cisco Systems. In the late 1990’s, DPS was named “Value Added Reseller of the Year” for the Great Lakes Region with a year-over-year growth rate of 300%. Cisco, today’s market leader in IP Telephony, began providing the technology in the late 1990s, and DPS was one the earliest adopters in the design, implementation, and support of pure IP Telephony communication systems for our clients. In 2000, DPS recognized the ever increasing threat to our client’s critical applications and data as our clients turned to us to implement and protect their Internet connections. DPS developed a consulting division to assist customers in managing risk, complying with regulations and industry-standard practices, and assuring optimal efficiency and security for their mission critical business processes. The primary goal for DPS has and always will be the willingness to go the extra mile for our clients and make the changes necessary to be successful in the marketplace. The reason we exist is to help organizations leverage technology to advance their business goals and enhance their ‘go to market’ capabilities.
